I make my living as a singer, and my heart is in Old Hollywood.

I'm best known as a jazz vocalist. Singing jazz enables me to do what I love most: perform jazz standards, many of which had their start in classic film. I love being able to tell an audience which movie a song was from when I perform; it's my personal homage to the films I love.
This blog used to be called Classic Movie Moments, where I mused about stars and films that I love. Over the past few months, however, I've been really interested in exploring how my love of classic Hollywood has informed how I define myself as a 21st century feminist. A lot of classic film is problematic by today's feminist standards, and yet, I have learned so much about powerful, badass women through watching classic film. So, come along with me on this journey as I work through all of these thoughts!
